Thank you for visiting the blogsite for FlyCatcher, the Virtual Reality (VR) citizen science game we have developed in our roles as researchers at the University of Lincoln Schools of Life Sciences and Computer Science.
This collaborative project has been created to help them better understand the erratic, evasive movement of fleeing prey.
This game, is freely available for download on Steam™ for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Participants will play as a hungry predator and try to catch moving flies with their extendable tongue. Data will be collected on player performance, and used to find out whether flies in differently sized groups and displaying different movement strategies can improve their chance of escape.
